On June 1, 2016 Gmail added a new set of ideas in its DMARC policy to prevent the usage of @gmail.com addresses by third party email senders on sending emails to Gmail recipients. They have come up with a plan to reject all the emails to their recipient's inboxes that comes from the Gmail address but not through Gmail and will not be delivered any more.
Gmail have made it to stop the usage of Gmail address for sending all varied email campaigns. not only Gmail, Yahoo and AOL have adopted the same policy beforehand like that of Gmail to minimise the usage of email address.
If you are a Gmail sender with MailGoes then you have two possibilities which are as follows:
Recommended possibility 1: Use your own domain as sender email address. For example: xxx@your domain.com.
If you don't have one such then you can buy it from reputable domain providers like GoDaddy or 1 & 1, then you can use it as your sender email address in MailGoes.
Possibility 2 but not recommended: You can use an email address other than Gmail, Yahoo and AOL as sooner or later they are in the queue to adopt the DMARC policy to that of Gmail. That is why we strongly recommended you to follow the first possibility option.
Important points to remember:
Gmail have changed its DMARC policy and for any ISP to accept the emails send via Gmail should be in adherence with that of DMARC policy and DKIM or SPF linked to Gmail. If not then the emails will be rejected or get reflected as a soft bounce. This policy is adopted to reduce the spamming or phishing issues.
Yahoo and AOL have already adopted this saga to reduce the spammers and now with Gmail, many other ISPs are in the queue to adopt the same. For this reason the best option available to all email marketers to show off their legitimacy is by using a registered domain name which is the key to ensure optimal deliverability.
