What should I do if my domain is blacklisted?

A blacklist is a publicly available list or a database which is used by the receiver servers commonly to identify the spammer. The receiver server obtains the information to check the reputation score of a particular IP address. Based upon this information the receiver decides to accept or to reject the email messages.

There are many more reputable or branded blacklist services which are commonly used by the giant ISPs. Hence in order to avoid all such issues keep your email list clean and healthy by adopting double opt-in method.

If you find your IP address to be in the blacklist then the first thing you need to do is to check with the following websites:

  • http://www.blacklistalert.org/

If you find your domain in the blacklist then contact the MailGoes support team to check with it and to rectify the issue. The first and foremost step is to find the cause of what made your domain to get blacklisted and remove the addresses from your email list immediately.

The best practice for not getting into blacklist is to clean your email regularly by eliminating hard bounce and unsubscribe email addresses and concentrate on people who like to hear from you and keep updating them of how often they can except your email newsletters and its size.
